Role Description
As a Research & Policy Intern, you will assist in analyzing migration policies, conducting research, and supporting advocacy efforts to improve the lives of migrants.
- Policy Research: Conduct research on migration-related policies and legal frameworks.
- Data Collection: Gather and analyze data to support evidence-based advocacy.
- Report Writing: Assist in drafting reports, policy briefs, and recommendations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Support communication with policymakers and advocacy partners.
- Legislative Monitoring: Track and analyze changes in migration laws and policies.
Time Commitment: Flexible, with a minimum of 10 hours per week.
Location: Online and in-person options available.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma plus a diploma in a relevant area (or associate degree).
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, social sciences, or related fields (preferred but not required).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to conduct independent research and analyze policy documents.
- Commitment to supporting migrant rights and integration policies.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience in research, policy analysis, or advocacy work.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, or similar).
- Familiarity with migration laws, human rights, and social policy frameworks.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in the local language of your canton (French, German, Italian, or Romansh).
- Basic proficiency in English for internal communication at IaMig.
- Additional language pairs such as Arabic or Spanish are a plus.
Experience Level
- Applicants with an associate degree or diploma in the field are eligible.
- Bachelor's degree holders with some relevant experience are preferred.
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in research or policy is valued.
